"The allotment project is the only thing that has got me out of the house." Hub Client.

Donate to help build our allotment project!

Studies have found that the mental health benefits of gardening are extensive. Regular gardening can reduce mental health problems like depression and anxiety and can also reduce stress, combat high blood pressure and improve overall physical fitness.

Since 2018, the Hub team, service users, volunteers and wider community members have been working hard to clear a small allotment in Sandhurst, Tunbridge Wells, so that this natural therapeutic environment can be used to:

  • Boost people's mental wellbeing
  • Improve their physical health
  • Help them engage with a healthier and more productive lifestyle
  • Reduce their isolation.

Help us move to the next stage of our allotment project!

Every year, our allotment will cost around £4500 to run. We are nearly ready for the next stage of this project and once the allotment is site-ready, Hub clients will be able to grow their own fruit and vegetables, learn new skills and gain confidence and motivation through reflective sessions such as mindfulness at the allotment.

Through projects like this, people can feel more connected to the wider community, all while bringing an area of overgrown and neglected community space back into public use.

Please donate today to help us develop this wellbeing activity that provides a natural therapeutic environment for our Service Users and community members!
