News and events News Lantern making workshop Lantern making workshops Here at the Hub, Service users have been taking part in a lantern making workshop, ready for the Tunbridge Wells Winter Lantern parade which takes place on 8th February 2020 from 5.30pm (meeting outside the old white stuff shop on the corner). The lantern parade has been running for 12 years and each year hundreds of people in the community come together to make lanterns and join the parade! The parade is funded by CREATE and Royal Tunbridge Wells Together and is run by CREATE's team of amazing volunteers. This year, the theme is “magic” and service users will spend the next 2 weeks making a huge 'book of spells'. We were joined at the Hub by Jane Churchill, who runs the workshops and is a freelance artist who makes the big lanterns for the CREATE lantern parade. We would like to say a huge thank you to Jane for getting us involved with such an exciting event this year! "I am delighted to be working with mental health resource to create a magic book of spells lantern with the creative writing group and all who are joining in!" Jane Churchill If you would like to make your own lanterns at home, kits are available from Whirligig toys or the Future Store in Tunbridge Wells RVP shopping centre.
