News and events News Mayor's Charity 2018-2019 The Mayor's Charity 2018-2019 We were delighted to be chosen by the Tunbridge Wells Mayor, Cllr Len Horwood, in May 2018 as his ‘Charity of the Year'! This was a fantastic opportunity for us, not just in terms of fundraising but also for shining a light on the issue of mental health. Now in our 26th year, we’re working harder than ever to support those in our community who are suffering from mental ill health. For many our work is not just life-changing but life-saving and in a borough which is estimated to see a projected increase of 26% in severe mental illness by 2020, mental health charities are now needed more than ever. The Mayor's team worked so hard to raise funds for our small charity. From a Civic Service at St Augustine’s Church and a Civic Dinner at the High Rocks Hotel, to a Clay Shoot at West Kent Shooting School and a Bowls match at the Grove Bowls club; we are so grateful for their efforts, which raised an incredible £25,000! By supporting our charity this Mayoral year, the Mayor’s office has helped give us a much louder voice which has proven invaluable. We have felt the overwhelming support of the community this year and so to the Mayor’s Office, those who have put on a fundraising event, donated a raffle prize or followed us on social media, thank you. Your support means the world to us!
