Mental Health Resource is your local mental health charity, based in Tunbridge Wells and serving residents throughout West Kent and Maidstone. Our an award-winning charity provides safe spaces and person-centred mental health support to help people improve their wellbeing. What we offer: Our services include 4 projects (3 community projects and 1 specialist advocacy service) which are all designed to make people feel supported, valued and connected: These 4 projects include: Our Community Projects Our 3 free and confidential community projects focus on supporting wellbeing in the community: The Hub : Our wellbeing centre, located in Tunbridge Wells, offers a safe space to talk and wellbeing activities including an allotment group, creative writing, craft workshops, art groups, walking groups, men's and women's talking groups, needlecraft and more. The Hub also provides limited 1-1 support and out-of-hours drop in groups. Reachout Our confidential peer support groups are for adults who live in Edenbridge, Southborough & Paddock Wood. Reachout Youth Our fun and confidential groups for young people aged 13-19 years old take place in Tunbridge Wells , at our Hub & at the Tonbridge Youth Hub. Our Advocacy Project Assert provide specialist advocacy support service for those detained under the Mental Health Act and in the community across West Kent and Maidstone, Dartford, Gravesham and Swanley. Specialist advocacy 'Assert' team leaflet Come to us for: Tailored Support: Free and non-judgemental person-centred support across various settings and on occasion, limited 1-2-1 support with trained professionals. Where possible, we work closely with clients to develop a personal progress plan based on their goals. Wellbeing activities: Our community projects provide a number of wellbeing activities to suit all interests. There is a full timetable of wellbeing activities at the Hub, our wellbeing centre, which include a variety of outdoor and creative groups. Meanwhile, our community groups -Reachout and Reachout Youth- also provide the opportunity for various wellbeing activities as part of their sessions. Signposting to other services: As a local charity, we form established links with other service providers in West Kent, helping us to share information and work closely to tackle the issue of mental health, to better support our clients. Peer connections: Our Community projects help facilitate engagement with the community and help to foster supportive friendships within the groups. Advocacy: A specialist service for those who have been detained under the Mental Health Act 1983. Easy access to services: clients can either self-refer or be referred by a GP or other organisation and clients can access our projects as soon as they would like to. To access our support, start by taking a look at 'Our Services' to see which project suits you. Please select a donation amount (required) £5 could provide a 1-1 support telephone call for someone who feels isolated. £10 could enable 1 person to attend a 1.5 hr support session to help them learn from others' experiences. £20 could provide a dedicated 1-1 support session for 1 person for 1 hour.
