Can you help fund our Reachout Youth groups?

In Kent, 50% of lifetime mental illness (except dementia) begins by the age of 14 and 75% begins by the age of 24.

Our Reachout youth groups deliver free, confidential and person-centred support to young people aged 12-19 years old. Last year alone we supported 60 young people in West Kent, with low self-confidence and limited social support networks outside of their immediate family.

These young people face many challenges, including but not limited to:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • PTSD
  • Self-harming
  • Stress about relationships and exams
  • Bereavement and
  • Broken family relationships.

Adapting our services

Due to the Covid19 pandemic, Reachout Youth is adapting it's services so we can continue to support our clients with their emotional and mental wellbeing need, as we realise now may be a time where support is most needed more than ever.

When joining a Reachout Youth group, young people can expect to receive access to

1. Weekly virtual peer support groups
2. One-to-one telephone support
3. Weekly support packs, including tips for managing their wellbeing.

"I struggle with my anger but I couldn't find any local service to help. Reachout Youth has helped me talk about things I don’t want to tell my school, therapist or parents about". 'Amy'

Can you help us fund our Reachout Youth support groups?

We need to raise £8000, so we can give young people:

  • the tools to learn different approaches to conflict scenarios, like bullying,
  • how to stay calm and connected while self-isolating,
  • ways to plan their days and feel productive in this scary time
  • a safe space to talk through any issues and concerns.

Your donation will help us help young people in Kent to receive support for their mental and emotional wellbeing through life, whatever the challenges.
