"The group were very much engaged and it was great to hear them discussing these important subjects. The subject matter and depth was a perfect match for their age." Kevin Martin, Scout Leader

Scout discussion topicsOur Reachout Youth Support Worker, Hannah, visited Gilwell Troop at St Paul's Rusthall Scout group, in February for a 'Scout Mental Health & Wellbeing Discussion Session'. Hannah chatted with a number of 11-14 year olds about topics that impact on young people's mental health and wellbeing, including sexuality, exam stress, bullying and pressure from parents.

The main focus of this session was on the Scouts' own thoughts around positive mental health and wellbeing, and they worked in groups to discuss what negative behaviours might look like and steps they can take to create more positive impacts on their mental health, such as talking to professionals/trusted adults and developing new habits.

Thank you to Scout Leader, Kevin Martin, for inviting Hannah from Reachout Youth to talk to your young Scouts!
