Jamie and the team have chosen to support our charity with a regular financial gift, as well as use of their space at the Bakery to deliver some of our face to face support groups. The Bicycle Bakery is an independent, artisan bakery that creates traditional, delicious sourdough bread. They've been making and baking sourdough, croissants, great coffee, sandwiches and brunch on Camden Road since March 2014 when Jamie opened the towns first sourdough bakery focused on the traditional methods of making bread. Creaseys are one of the ‘Sunday Times Best Small Companies to work for’ in 2019. And we can see why! They held a number of fundraising events including rounders tournaments, comedy nights, a festive jumper day, cake sales and more. Flow Tunbridge Wells Flow Tunbridge Wells is a much loved yoga studio and treatment room in central Tunbridge Wells offering yoga, osteopathy, therapies, workshops, courses and yoga holidays. We are delighted that Lucy and the team at Flow have chosen to support Mental Health Resource through their weekly Monday Meditation classes, which people can either sign up to take part in for free or make a small donation to Mental Health Resource. John Lewis & Partners John Lewis & Partners, Tunbridge Wells branch have been kindly supporting our charity by displaying collection tins in their store and raising awareness of our services amongst their staff throughout 2019 and 2020. Lamberhurst Panto Society The Lamberhurst Panto Society have raised an incredible £1400 for Mental Health Resource, through donations from those who watched 'A Lad in Lockdown', their innovative pantomime on Zoom! The Lamberhurst Pantomime is an annual community event bringing music, laughter and a whole heap of fun to the local community – both as performers and audience. Over its 40 years history, hundreds of people of all ages – 8 to 80 and beyond – have taken part in their pantomimes. A Lad in Lockdown is still available to watch on YouTube. Lisa Whitehouse Yoga & Mindfulness The wonderful Lisa Whitehouse regularly supports Mental Health Resource by holding Forest Yoga sessions at Bedgebury and Mindful retreat evenings with proceeds coming to Mental health Resource. More recently, Lisa has helped introduce mindfulness to young people at our Reachout Youth sessions. Thank you Lisa! Markerstudy Insurance Markerstudy Insurance, Tunbridge Wells, recently marked World Mental Health Day by holding a fundraising day, raising over £300 for Mental Health Resource! Taking place at Salomons Estate, the theme was based around the concept of 18 years. Staff were encouraged to dress up as a person they admired at that time, with entries including Madonna and the Pet Shop Boys! Other fun activities included quizzes and team orientation games, with ‘Attenborough’s Animals’ winning the overall team challenges! Maslins Accountants Maslins Accountants, based in Tunbridge Wells, provide tax advice, accounting compliance and support to freelancer/contractor companies across the UK. Every month, Maslins support our charity with a regular donation which helps us plan for the activities we will deliver. Each member of staff at Maslins chooses a charity for the company to donate to each month on their behalf and we were chosen by the fabulous Leanne, who has also joined our Marketing & Fundraising Committee! MBM Consulting (Construction & project Consultants) MBM Consulting (construction and project consultants) is a leading consultancy that works closely with its clients to identify and solve issues that improve project profitability. Mental Health Resource were recently chosen by their local branch office, located in Southborough, as one of 3 local charities to receive a donation of £500, which will go towards our work in supporting clients who face challenges as a result of Covid19. Neighbourly We were delighted to receive a micro-grant from the Neighbourly Community Fund in response to our work throughout COVID-19. With the support of M&S, Lidl, Aldi, Nutricia (Danone), Coca-Cola European Partners, giffgaff, Southern Coop, HEINEKEN and their customers and members, Neighbourly is providing micro-grants of £400 to support good causes that are helping communities affected by the coronavirus outbreak. These grants are to support the Neighbourly causes and individuals most affected. Thank you Neighbourly for your support! Nevill Golf Club The Nevill Golf Club have appointed new Men's and Lady's captains for 2021, Paul Warley and Leilla Humphries. As Captains, Paul & Leilla are keen to support local mental health services and have chosen Mental Health Resource as their joint charity for the year. They have planned Captains’ charity golf days for their members and aim to hold social events when possible (we've been told they're working with the Social Secretary & have put their creative thinking caps on!) Ideas include instigating a Captains’ charity bunker whereby golfers have to pay a fine if their ball goes into a nominated bunker. Paul & Leilla say, "We look forward to highlighting the charity's work to our members and raising them some funds to support this great work." Sandersons UK Sandersons UK, an estate agents based in Canterbury, raised an incredible £1975 for Mental Health Resource by completing a gruelling Commando Run! On 10th November 2019, Chris, Mark, Robin, Antony & Alex braved a 12km course with 48 of the toughest obstacles straight out of the commando test book. They endured the mud, sweat and pain of modern day Royal Marines Commando training. Despite that, they all still made it into work the next day. More recently, Sandersons UK have also chosen to support Mental Health Resource with donations that have been raised amongst their team. Charlotte Dury, Development Manager, says, "we have also sought to be a positive force in our community and are thrilled to be able to support Mental Health Resource and the fabulous and critical work they do". Thank you for your support! Spire Tunbridge Wells Hospital Spire Tunbridge Wells Hospital chose to support Mental Health Resource as part of their wellbeing week in June 2019. Spire offers world-class care and is part of one of the UK’s most respected private hospital groups. So we are so thrilled to be chosen as their local charity to support during this week's fundraising events. Their fundraising efforts, as part of their Wellbeing Week, included a cake sake and a sponsored cycle ride. St John's Lawn Tennis Club The wonderful people at St John's Lawn Tennis Club are raising funds and awareness of our charity among their 350 senior and junior members members. Founded in 1922, St John's Tennis Club is located in St John's Road, Tunbridge Wells with four floodlit all-weather courts and a practice wall. This is a very friendly and sociable tennis club and recently won 'Lawn Tennis Association's Kent Club of the Year for 2020'. Mental Health Resource is absolutely delighted to be the Club's first ever 'Charity of the Year' and we will assist the members with their online fundraising events with a view to hopefully running fundraising events at the club when the circumstances allow. Sweetwoods Seniors Golf Society Sweetwoods Seniors Golf Society raised just under £3000 this year to support Mental Health Resource. In 2019, Mental Health Resource were chosen as the charity of the year by The Seniors Golf club Society at Sweetwoods Golf Club in Kent. The Golf Society hosted quizes, plant and cake sales, raffles and auctions throughout the year and we were also invited to speak about our work in the community, supporting people with a whole range of mental health illnesses. Tunbridge Wells Soroptimists The Tunbridge Wells Soroptimists have kindly supported our Reachout Youth project with a donation which was raised through the sale of face masks throughout Tunbridge Wells shops. As one of 3000 clubs worldwide, the Tunbridge Wells & District Soroptimists are committed to improving the lives of women and girls. Their work includes hands on service, fundraising for national and international projects, awareness raising and lobbying. Thanks so much for your generous donation! TW Boorman Funeral Directors TW Boorman Funeral Directors, part of the Funeral Partners Group, recently supported Mental Health Resource by promoting our services and fundraising, along with 6 other local offices linked with Funeral Partners in West Kent. TW Boorman Funeral Services is a long established funeral directors in Tunbridge Wells and they take great pride in supporting the local communities in our community, regularly organising and participating in local events and charity fundraising activities. To show their support for Mental Health Resource, each of the 7 local offices have a window display about our charity, advertising our services to those who might need some level of support with their mental health. We are also thrilled to receive around 60 bags of toiletries for our clients and some clients even received free haircuts, thanks to the staff at TW Boorman! TW Lotto TW Lotto is an exciting weekly lottery that raises money for good causes in Tunbridge Wells, including Mental Health Resource. From every £1 ticket sold 60p will go to good causes in Tunbridge Wells. We were delighted to recently be awarded £500 for taking part in the TW Lotto incentive challenge and this money will go towards supporting local people with their mental health. Thanks TW Lotto! West Kent Masons Thank you to the West Kent Freemasons for kindly funding 2 new laptops for our Assert project, which provides free, independent and confidential advocacy support across West Kent for those who are detained under the Mental Health Act 1983. Last year, this service helped 1165 people express their views and wishes to professionals to help make decisions about their lives. The West Kent Freemasons are part of the world’s largest and oldest non-religious, non-political fraternal and charitable organisation, which is open to everybody regardless of their background. Integrity, friendship, respect and charity are the bedrocks of their organisation.
