Bicycle Bakery

The Bicycle Bakery logoThe Bicycle Bakery on Camden Road has become a 'corporate partner' of Mental Health Resource! 

Jamie and the team have chosen to support our charity with a regular financial gift, as well as use of their space at the Bakery to deliver some of our face to face support groups.

The Bicycle Bakery is an independent, artisan bakery that creates traditional, delicious sourdough bread. They've been making and baking sourdough, croissants, great coffee, sandwiches and brunch on Camden Road since March 2014 when Jamie opened the towns first sourdough bakery focused on the traditional methods of making bread.

 have chosen Mental Health Resource as their 'Charity of the Year'!

As part of their corporate social responsibility commitment, Tom and Jacob have volunteered their services to produce an impactful new film, demonstrating what our support means to some of our clients. 

Filmed on location at East Sussex beaches and at our Hub centre in central Tunbridge Wells in November 2021, the film features three clients who were happy to talk about how our charity has helped them, like Serena who suffered a psychotic episode and found support through our wellbeing activities at the Hub.

Digitom is a multi-award winning production company based in Tunbridge Wells and it's Founder & Creative Director, Tom Chown, wanted to combine anonymity for contributors with cinematic and aerial filming, all while highlighting client voice. Thank you, Tom and Jacob, for creating this new film, which we are sure will help us to reach more people who would benefit from our person-centred mental health support and wellbeing activities.

Maslins Accountants, based in Tunbridge Wells, provide tax advice, accounting compliance and support to freelancer/contractor companies across the UK.

We were delighted to receive a micro-grant from the Neighbourly Community Fund in response to our work throughout COVID-19. With the support of M&S, Lidl, Aldi, Nutricia (Danone), Coca-Cola European Partners, giffgaff, Southern Coop, HEINEKEN and their customers and members, Neighbourly is providing micro-grants of £400 to support good causes that are helping communities affected by the coronavirus outbreak.

Rusthall FC Quiz night for Mental Health Resource

Thank you Jamie & the team at Rusthall FC who held a general knowledge quiz night in May 2022, and a 'Walk and Talk to the Culverden' fundraising event, with proceeds coming to our charity!

Rusthall Football Club is an English football club located at The Jockey Farm Stadium in Rusthall, near Royal Tunbridge Wells, in Kent. The club plays in the Southern Counties East League's Premier Division.

Tunbridge Wells Round Table

Mayor of Tunbridge Wells and Jen from Mental Health ResourceThank you to the Royal Tunbridge Wells Round Table members who donated £729 so that we can buy a much needed shed for our Hub allotment project!

The Royal Tunbridge Wells Round Table are a group of ordinary guys, aged 18-45, doing extraordinary things to raise money for charitable causes, like putting on community events such as the Dunorlan Park Fireworks and running a Santa Sleigh collection for Nourish foodbank. They also assist with community events including Rusthall Village Fete and the TW Half Marathon.

The money for a shed at our allotment group will enable our Hub clients to get more use out of their time experiencing therapy in nature as there will be more space for more equipment and even some cover when the weather turns!

TW Lotto is an exciting weekly lottery that raises money for good causes in Tunbridge Wells, including Mental Health Resource. From every £1 ticket sold 60p will go to good causes in Tunbridge Wells.

Flow Tunbridge Wells

Flow Tunbridge Wells is a much loved yoga studio and treatment room in central Tunbridge Wells offering yoga, osteopathy, therapies, workshops, courses and yoga holidays. Flow also offers At Home online classes, delivered directly into your living room through their live streaming software.

Lucy and the team at Flow chose to support Mental Health Resource through their weekly Monday Meditation classes, for the start of the year in 2021, whereby people could sign up to take part in for free or make a small donation to Mental Health Resource.

Mental Health Resource John lewis & partnersThe wonderful Tina and partners at John Lewis & Partners, Tunbridge Wells branch kindly supported our charity by displaying collection tins in their store and raising awareness of our services amongst their staff throughout 2019 and 2020.

In November 2020, we received a cheque for £1125 and in August 2021, we received another donation of £2000!

Lamberhurst Panto SocietyThe Lamberhurst Panto Society raised £1400 for Mental Health Resource, through donations from those who watched 'A Lad in Lockdown', their innovative pantomime on Zoom!

The Lamberhurst Pantomime is an annual community event bringing music, laughter and a whole heap of fun to the local community – both as performers and audience.  Over its 40 years history, hundreds of people of all ages – 8 to 80 and beyond – have taken part in their pantomimes. Thank you to everyone who donated and took part in their performance!

Lisa Whitehouse Yoga & Mindfulness

The wonderful Lisa Whitehouse supported Mental Health Resource throughout 2020-2021 by holding Forest Yoga sessions at Bedgebury and Mindful retreat evenings with proceeds coming to Mental health Resource.

More recently, Lisa has helped introduce mindfulness to young people at our Reachout Youth sessions. Thank you Lisa!

Markerstudy Insurance

Markerstudy Insurance, Tunbridge Wells marked World Mental Health Day 2019 by holding a fundraising day, raising over £300 for Mental Health Resource! Taking place at Salomons Estate, the theme was based around the concept of 18 years.

Staff were encouraged to dress up as a person they admired at that time, with entries including Madonna and the Pet Shop Boys! Other fun activities included quizzes and team orientation games, with ‘Attenborough’s Animals’ winning the overall team challenges!

MBM Consulting (Construction & project Consultants)

MBM ConsultingMBM Consulting (construction and project consultants) is a leading consultancy that works closely with its clients to identify and solve issues that improve project profitability. 

Mental Health Resource were recently chosen by their local branch office, located in Southborough, as one of 3 local charities to receive a donation of £500. MBM Consulting were unable to run events for their clients so instead chose to donate to charity. Thank you, MBM Consulting, for your generous donation!

Nevill Golf Club 

The Nevill Golf Club's Men's and Lady's captains for 2021 were Paul Warley and Leilla Humphries, who have had an incredible year of fundraising, raising an astonishing £10,000 for our charity! Their joint charity golf days and social events have included instigating a Captains’ charity bunker whereby golfers have to pay a fine if their ball goes into a nominated bunker.

Runway Training corporate partner of Mental Health ResourceRunway Training, based in Tonbridge, chose Mental Health Resource as their 'Charity of the Year' in 2021 and held various events including a team building event at Dino Golf, a sponsored row-a-thon and even a sleepout one very cold December evening!

Runway Training are a specialist provider of Maths & English Functional Skills qualifications, Apprenticeships, Traineeships, Certified Short Courses and Soft Skills. Runway Training consistently achieves a high level of apprenticeship completion and fantastic learner results and have helped over 8000 learners achieve nationally recognised qualifications. We are so grateful to have your support!

Sandersons UK

Sandersons UK, an estate agents based in Canterbury, raised an incredible £1975 for Mental Health Resource by completing a gruelling Commando Run!

On 10th November 2019, Chris, Mark, Robin, Antony & Alex braved a 12km course with 48 of the toughest obstacles straight out of the commando test book. They endured the mud, sweat and pain of modern day Royal Marines Commando training. Despite that, they all still made it into work the next day.

More recently, Sandersons UK have also chosen to support Mental Health Resource with donations that have been raised amongst their team. Charlotte Dury, Development Manager, says, "we have also sought to be a positive force in our community and are thrilled to be able to support Mental Health Resource and the fabulous and critical work they do". Thank you for your support!

Spire Tunbridge Wells Hospital chose to support Mental Health Resource as part of their wellbeing week in June 2019.

Spire offers world-class care and is part of one of the UK’s most respected private hospital groups. So we are so thrilled to be chosen as their local charity to support during this week's fundraising events. 

Their fundraising efforts, as part of their Wellbeing Week, included a cake sake and a sponsored cycle ride.  

St John's Lawn Tennis Club

St JohnThe wonderful people at St John's Lawn Tennis Club raised funds and awareness of our charity in 2021 among their 350 senior and junior members members.  

Founded in 1922, St John's Tennis Club is located in St John's Road, Tunbridge Wells with four floodlit all-weather courts and a practice wall. This is a very friendly and sociable tennis club and recently won 'Lawn Tennis Association's Kent Club of the Year for 2020'.

Sweetwoods Seniors Golf Society

Sweetwoods Seniors Golf Society raised just under £3000 in 2021 to support Mental Health Resource.

In 2019, Mental Health Resource were chosen as the charity of the year by The Seniors Golf club Society at Sweetwoods Golf Club in Kent. The Golf Society hosted quizes, plant and cake sales, raffles and auctions throughout the year and we were also invited to speak about our work in the community, supporting people with a whole range of mental health illnesses.

More recently, in August 2021, the club also held a Golf Day in support of our charity as part of the Mayor's Civic year. Thanks to everyone at Sweetwoods!

Tonbridge Round Table

Mental Health Resource and Round TableThank you to the members of Tonbridge Round Table who have chosen to support our charity with a donation of £500. Stewart, the current Chair, met with Office Manager Leigh and Fundraising Manager, Jen for a cheque presentation in early May 2021.

The Tonbridge Round Table is now in its 60th year and they meet every 1st, 3rd (& 5th) Monday of each month to do something fun and out of the ordinary. They raise money for local charities and support community projects with the aim to directly benefit and support groups in our local community and to enhance and support facilities for children.

We are delighted to be chosen by the new Tunbridge Wells Mayor, Cllr Chris Woodward as the Mayoral ‘Charity of the Year' for 2021-2022!

The high standing of the Mayor is one of honour and dignity rather than actual legal powers and this is a fantastic opportunity for us to shine a light on mental health awareness in our town. 

Cllr Woodward explained he was keen to support Mental Health Resource because, “mental health became a greater concern during COVID lockdowns, especially among young people.  Mental Health Resource was quick to adapt and did its very best to use distanced-based delivery to support its clients.  Their contributions to helping and steering those with such needs are crucial and much appreciated.”

The Tunbridge Wells Soroptimists kindly supported our Reachout Youth project with a donation in 2020 which was raised through the sale of face masks throughout Tunbridge Wells shops. 

As one of 3000 clubs worldwide, the Tunbridge Wells & District Soroptimists are committed to improving the lives of women and girls. Their work includes hands on service, fundraising for national and international projects, awareness raising and lobbying.

TW Boorman Funeral Services is a long established funeral directors in Tunbridge Wells and they take great pride in supporting the local communities in our community, regularly organising and participating in local events and charity fundraising activities.

To show their support for Mental Health Resource, each of the 7 local offices have a window display about our charity, advertising our services to those who might need some level of support with their mental health. We are also thrilled to receive around 60 bags of toiletries for our clients and some clients even received free haircuts, thanks to the staff at TW Boorman!
