Donate to our Reachout Youth Appeal Would you like to join a virtual wellbeing youth group? Reachout Youth is a free service offering support to young people throughout West Kent. We are unable to run face to face groups at the moment, but our trained and supportive staff are delivering weekly virtual groups so you can still have a safe space to talk about things you might not usually share with friends or family. Who can join? Anyone aged 13-19 may join. You may be struggling with your mental health, feeling low, anxious or lonely, want to meet new people, or are just looking for something fun to do Why join Reachout Youth? You may want to... make new friends who understand what you’re going through; take part in fun activities; learn tools and resources to manage your wellbeing; develop coping strategies; improve your confidence and self-esteem; feel part of a community; help to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health. The groups offer young people a confidential, supportive and inclusive space to share things not usually shared with friends or family. By joining, you'll also receive a monthly support pack via email filled with tips for managing your wellbeing. What will a session look like? Sessions are informal and focus on wellbeing, including activities, games and discussions. We always begin with a check-in. Each week we choose a theme to focus on, past examples have been; family relationships, loneliness, anger, mindfulness, self-care and stress. The groups are peer-led meaning that you choose what you’d like to do in each session. We still do fun activities, just virtually - recently we have held quizzes, arts & crafts, yoga, games and movie nights. Two trained and supportive members of staff facilitate the group. When & Where? Every Wednesday & Thursday from 5-6.30pm, term-time only. Whilst we are unable to run our groups face-to-face, we are delivering virtual groups via Zoom. You may drop in for as long as you like, there is no pressure to stay for the full session. How do I join? Contact Anna to have a chat and receive the short referral form.
