Reachout Youth Virtual support

Reachout Youth’s café style sessions are aimed at young people aged 13-19, experiencing emotional or mental health difficulties. Our groups bring young people together to reduce stigma, share stories, develop coping strategies and make friends.

​We are unable to run face to face groups at the moment, but our trained and supportive staff are delivering weekly virtual groups and WhatsApp support. By joining, you can find out what has helped others and have a safe space to talk about things you might not usually share with friends or family.

Reachout Youth Virtual groups run every Wednesday & Thursday from 4-5.30pm.

You can also receive 1-2-1 telephone support and a fortnightly support pack with tips for managing your wellbeing.

We also offer a WhatsApp messaging support service on Fridays between 10am – 12pm.

To receive this support, you will first need to register by completing the Reachout Youth Referral form

What's included in a Reachout Youth session?

The virtual groups offer young people an informal, fun and confidential space to share stories, reduce stigma, develop coping strategies and make friends. They provide a space to meet other young people who’ve had similar experiences and to share things not usually shared with friends or family. The sessions focus on wellbeing and include activities, games and discussions on themes surrounding mental health. We also invite guest speakers to deliver sessions on specialist subjects.

Sessions are informal and participants influence the topics covered, based on their individual needs. Each week there is a theme to provide focus to the sessions, and the group members take part in deciding these. Some examples of themes we have explored are family relationships, loneliness, anger, mindfulness, self-care, stress, self-confidence and recharging. 

Whatever the topic, the groups will always offer;

  • Confidential, self-help support in a supportive, caring and non-judgemental environment.
  • Opportunities to make friends and share with people who understand what you're going through.
  • Tools and resources to build confidence and self-esteem.
  • Strategies to manage stressful life events.
