On Saturday 22nd April, we were joined by Kevin, Jaco, Paul, Dauda, Scott and Godwin from Michael J Lonsdale Group who gave up their Saturdays to completely transform Mental Health Resource’s outside decking space at the front of our building.

In recent months, the space had fallen into disrepair, with rotten decking and overgrown plants making the space unusable for our clients.

However, this hard working team got to work by removing the rotten old decking, clearing the area of overgrown plants growing out of the tarmac, jet washed the area, then painted the wall to brighten it up. They also cleaned and repaired the seating structure and used their carpentry skills to make it usable again.

Thanks to Michael J Lonsdale, it has now become a space that our clients can use again to socialise in. Although it is not a large space, it is an important area of the family environment that we try to provide for our clients. With many people coming to us in order to feel less isolated, we know that they will enjoy sitting with friends in this outside area, and help one another feel supported and valued.
